Hello there! I am working on a short film which is set around 2002/2003 - it’s about the power of the internet and especially messenger applications like MSN Messenger. I wanted to ask if anyone knows whether video chat was available in MSN Messenger 7? And would it be possible to run that on Windows 2000? Does anyone have a screenshot of what video chat looked liked back then?? It’s important for us that we are authentic in our portrayal. Thanks for your help. Jason

Assigned to notify families about war casualties, he finds wise counsel in the person of his more experienced partner. Critic Bob Mondello says that for a film that comes bearing sad reminders about the costs of war, The Messenger is peopled by characters who seem gratifyingly alive. (Recommended)

12. The Messenger Reviews - Metacritic
Nov 13, 2009 · On the surface, The Messenger is a film about an injured war veteran (Foster) being assigned to casualty notification duty with a hard as nails ...
In his first leading role, Foster stars as Will Montgomery, a U.S. Army officer who has just returned home from a tour in Iraq and is assigned to the Army’s Casualty Notification service. Partnered with fellow officer Tony Stone to bear the bad news to the loved ones of fallen soldiers, Will faces the challenge of completing his mission while seeking to find comfort and healing back on the home front. When he finds himself drawn to Olivia, to whom he has just delivered the news of her husband's death, Will’s emotional detachment begins to dissolve and the film reveals itself as a surprising, humorous, moving and very human portrait of grief, friendship and survival. Apologies if we already have a thread for this film. Neither Google nor the internal search function turned up any mention of it at all. I just saw it this afternoon. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it – it’s not that kind of film – but it was definitely worthwhile. Ben Foster is excellent as the central character and conscience of the film, and Woody Harrelson has quite possibly never been better, turning in a solid dramatic performance both sympathetic and off-putting. The story itself is an at-tim...
